At Springfield Lakemore Channel 1023 we do not use stock photos for our background pictures as many sites do. Thanks to a village resident, we have beautiful pictures.

Longtime Village of Lakemore Resident Jon Strittmatter has been providing Springfield Lakemore Channel1023 with our background photographs for some time now. His spectacular sunset photos and up-close shots of our local Bald Eagles has caught the attention of many area residents and beyond.

Strittmatter, at one time, was a Captain for the Village of Lakemore Fire Department. Although he still flips pancakes at the fire department pancake breakfasts, he has gone on to do other things in life but picked up photography along the way as a hobby.

He said, for him, photography was a way for him to deal with depression. He would walk in the parks and just start shooting pictures of what he saw with what he described as a "cheap point and shoot" camera. 

He grew up on the lake and just started shooting pictures there. He has shot so many sunsets.

He said when the eagles first came to town, he began shooting pictures of them. It was then he upgraded his point and shoot to a better camera with a lens he could get up close pictures of the majestic birds. 

Strittmatter is a councilman for the village and continues to shoot pictures many days of the week. When you see him out and about say hi and ask what he is shooting with his lens that day.

Sit back tonight at 7 p.m. and enjoy the concert of Phil N the Blanks on Channel 1023. It is a night of oldies, classic rock and just all-around fun right from your easy chair!

It also will play, Monday and Friday at 2 a.m., 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Also, Tuesday and Saturday at 12 a.m., 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Wednesday at 6 a.m., 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., and Sunday and Thursday at 3 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Spectrum Community Channel 1023 welcomes you!

Welcome to the Spectrum Community Channel 1023 serving the communities of the Village of Lakemore and Springfield Township in Northeast Ohio.

1023 provides both communities with programing such as local government meetings, fun community events, school programs and more. 

When tuning into the channel, residents can find a schedule of programming times.  The schedule is also posted on the Springfield website, www.springfieldtownship.us and our social media Facebook, Instagram and this blog. 

From the News Desk:

We are finishing up airing the Springfield school programs for the year. We have the Springfield Junior High School 7th & 8th Grade Awards Ceremonies and the Spring Hill Preschool Promotion. 

We had a viewer ask about the airing times of the community government meetings. We air recent meetings. We try to air every meeting within 2-4 days after it happens. Some meetings happen twice a month and some meetings are once a month. This dictates how long we run the meetings on the channel and when we can schedule additional programing. We appreciate the question and are open to answering any of your questions.

The Channel 1023 team is always looking for events or activities happening in the Lakemore and Springfield communities. Let us know of an event or activity going on in the communities that would be nice to see on Spectrum 1023 by contacting a local government official.
